The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Directors' Note

A note from Eric Miller and Elaine Ritter.

This is a story that we have loved from childhood and it was exciting to be able to bring this to the stage for you.

Over the past 14 weeks there have been many hours put in by our directing team, actors, set builders, costumers, prop masters, techs, and prayer warriors. We have been blessed with the dedication of our volunteers and have enjoyed getting to know and working with them; they have become 'family' and we have had a lot of fun on our journey together.

However, we do this not just because it is something we enjoy doing. Our hope in presenting The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is that when you look for Aslan in the real world, you will find out that his true name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He came into our world as a man in order to rescue us, and He died to take our souls out of the deadness of winter into the newness of spring. May you discover that Jesus is good, and the life he calls us to is a bigger adventure than you can possibly imagine.

As Lewis wrote to a girl one month before his death, "I'm so thankful that you realized the 'hidden story' in the Narnia books. It is odd, children nearly always do, grown-ups hardly ever... If you continue to love Jesus, nothing much can go wrong with you, and I hope you may always do so."
